Hall, a four-year letterman on the men’s basketball team from 1985-89, was the inaugural male recipient of the NCAA’s Walter Byers Postgraduate Scholarship. Hall graduated with a 3.952 grade-point average on Ball State’s 4.0 scale as a double major in accounting and political science, and was a two-time Academic All-MAC and Academic All-District selection. He captained the Cardinals’ 1988-89 team that posted a 29-3 overall record, won the MAC Championship and the MAC Tournament, plus captured the school’s first-ever NCAA Tournament contest with a 68-64 victory over Pittsburgh at the RCA (formerly Hoosier) Dome in Indianapolis, Ind.
