Ray Louthen, former Ball State Athletic Director, compiled a .740 winning percentage (37-13-3) as head football coach from 1962 until 1967 and a .554 effort (158-127-1) as head baseball mentor from 1959-1970. He led Ball State’s gridders to four ICC crowns, one unbeaten season and two Grantland Rice Bowl berths plus the Cardinal baseballers to three ICC titles and a pair of NCAA District Four playoff tourneys.
