Mark Davis
- Induction:
- 2001
- Class:
- 1987
Davis was a four-year letterman for the Ball State baseball team from 1983-87. He completed is career as the all-time MAC leader in hits (259), doubles (65), runs-batted-in (190), and total bases (443)—all records which still stand as the best on Ball State’s career charts. Davis’ 259 hits stood as the league’s all-time hit record until the 2000 season, a span of 14 seasons. Davis helped Ball State to back-to-back 30-win seasons in 1985 and 1986, which marked the school’s first 30-victory campaigns since 1976 and only the second and third in the school’s history.
Â
Davis, who was selected to the 1987 All-Mideast First Team, signed a free agent contract with the Atlanta Braves after completing his collegiate career.
