Between 1971 and 1974, Bullington set nine Ball State basketball scoring records, including the one-game standard of 47 points. The 6-2, 180-pound guard ranked sixth in the nation in scoring with a 25.5 average as a senior and fourth in the country in free-throw percentage with a .882 effort as a sophomore.

A three-year regular in the infield for BSU’s baseball team, Bullington was named most valuable player in 1972 when he led the team with a .363 batting average.
