Kris Burdine

A highly decorated player on and off the field, Kris Burdine finished her career second in BSU history in home runs (7) and runs scored (84), third in batting average (.337), total bases (245) and triples (13), and fifth in hits (168) and doubles (30). "Birdie," as she was affectionally known, earned All-Mid-American Conference First Team honors in 2004 and second team accolades in back-to-back seasons in 2002 and 2003. Â

Burdine was also successful in the classroom, earning spots on the 2004 CoSIDA Academic All-American Second Team and the 2003 CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team as well. A three-time Academic All-MAC recipient, Burdine also was awarded NFPCA All-America Scholar Athlete all four years at Ball State (2001-2004). Â

After her career was over, Burdine served two years as a graduate assistant in the Ball State Athletics Communications office.
