Kevin "KJ" Kinnee
- Induction:
- 2022
- Class:
- 1994
Kinnee made quite the impact with the Ball State football team in only two seasons (1993-94) after transferring from Butler. Kinnee found success in a short time as a Cardinal earning All-MAC Second Team honors in 1993 and 1994. Kinnee helped guide the Cardinals to the 1993 Mid-American Conference Championship title and an appearance in the Las Vegas Bowl. Â
Â
As a senior, Kinnee was asked to participate in the National College Football All-Star game and was voted second for MAC Defensive Player of the Year. Â
Â
A 1994 team captain, Kinnee still owns the single-game tackling record with 29, an accomplishment he achieved three times while also tying Jack Lambert's MAC record in that same category. He also owns the two highest single-season tackle totals in Ball State history: 204 in 1993 and 196 in 1994. Both totals were tops in the MAC in tackles during those seasons.
