John Williams

Williams was a three-year letterman for the men’s basketball team from 1980 through 1982 and he helped the Cardinals to their first-ever Mid-American Championship and trip to the NCAA Tournament in 1981. Williams, who captained the team in each of his three seasons, led BSU in assists and steals each year as he started all 87 of the squad’s contests. He received honorable mention on the All-Mid-American team in each of his three years. Williams finished his career with 973 points, 479 rebounds, 344 assists, and 167 steals. He ranks fifth on the school’s career-assists list and is 13th on the all-time rebounding chart.Â
