Jenny Eckert

Jenny Eckert was a member of the women’s basketball team from 1986 through 1990 and completed her career by becoming the first BSU women’s basketball player to ever be named the Mid-American Conference’s Most Valuable Player. She led the Cardinals to a 17-11 overall record, including a 9-7 MAC mark, in 1989-90, which was the most successful season in school history. Eckert played in all 109 games in her four-year career and started 89. She ranked first in the MAC in steals (3.8 per game), second in assists (5.4 per game), and third in scoring (16.7 per game) as a senior. Eckert completed her career as Ball State’s career leader in steals (319) and assists (471) plus was second in scoring (1,432). She ranked second in the MAC in career steals, fifth in career assists, and 14th in career points at the end of her career.
