Schrecongost, a three-year golf letterman at Ball State from 1966 to 1968, led Ball State to a 13th-place finish in the NCAA College Division Championships in 1967, finishing 18th among individuals. In 1968, he helped the Cardinals to a fifth-place effort in the NCAA College Division meet after winning medalist honors in the Indiana Intercollegiate Conference Championships.
