Greg Mack
- Induction:
- 1991
- Class:
- 1972
Mack earned three letters as a member of Ball State’s 1970, 1971, and 1972 football teams. His final year of play marked the school’s membership in the Mid-American Conference, its present-day athletic affiliation. Though his 5-foot-9 inch frame was considered small for a cornerback, Mack earned a starting role his final two campaigns. He registered a 59-yard interception in 1972 plus tallied a one-yard pass theft and a fumble recovery in 1971. A member of Ball State’s honors program, Mack graduated in 1973 summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology. His 3.98 grade-point average on the school’s 4.0 scale earned him an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, making him the first athlete in school history to accept such an award. Mack received all A’s in his area of study and recorded only two B’s in his collegiate career.
