Gina Lucido graduated in 1995 with a 3.55 GPA as a theatre major. She was an accomplished singer, who acted and sang in several campus productions plus performed the national anthem at many athletic events.
A four-year letterwinner, she started all of BSU’s 64 games during her final three seasons. She played a key role on the Cardinals’ defensive unit. As a senior, she accumulated a career-high four goals and 10 assists.
Lucido was a unanimous selection to both the 1993 and 1994 All-MAC First Teams. She also garnered first-team all-region accolades in both sea- sons. She concluded her playing career with her selection to the 1994 All- America Third Team.
A three-time recipient of Academic All-MAC accolades, Lucido was also a three-year member of the National Academic Team.
Lucido was the inaugural recipient of the Edith A. Patton Memorial Scholarship, which was established as a memorial to Patton, who served as BSU’s assistant coach for 14 years before passing away during the 1993 campaign.
The native of Macungie, Pa., is in her fifth season as assistant field hockey coach at Indiana, where she helped the Hoosiers to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance last fall.
