Wilson led the nation in passing efficiency in 1977 when he completed 115 of 177 passes for 1,589 yards and 17 touchdowns while being intercepted just seven times. The four-year letterman helped Ball State to its first two MAC Championships in 1976 and 1978 plus a 33-11 mark during his career. The only sophomore ever chosen Most Valuable Player for the BSU football team, Wilson was named Quarterback of the Week by United Press International Nov. 19, 1977. Wilson went on to become the chaplain for the Detroit Lions in the NFL.
