Fritz, who earned three letters in gymnastics at Ball State from 1959 to 1962, led the Cardinals in scoring three seasons. He became the first BSU gymnast to qualify for the NCAA Championships, earning berths during both his junior and senior campaigns. Fritz finished 10^th in tumbling and 15^th in free exercise in 1962 at the national meet.
