- Class:

Brad Maynard completed his 11th year as a punter in the National Football League, and his seventh season with the Chicago Bears in 2007. As a collegiate student-athlete, Maynard lettered in football for the Cardinals from 1993-96 and capped a brilliant career by being the first punter ever named an NCAA Division IA conference player of the year. Maynard was named the 1996 MAC Most Valuable Player and the 1996 MAC Defensive Player of the Year. Maynard was named a First-Team All-American on 13 teams in his final two seasons, plus was invited to compete in the Senior Bowl and was extended an invitation to the NFL Combine. He set the school and MAC record for career punt average (44.22), and was a three-time All-MAC First-Team selection. The New York Giants selected Maynard in the third round of the 1997 NFL Draft where he spent his first four professional seasons.
