Bill Richards

Richards, who at the time of his induction was in his 22nd season as the head men’s tennis coach at Ball State, had guided the Cardinals to 10 straight Mid-American Championships plus has built BSU into one of the most prominent programs on the regional and national levels. Since his initial season at BSU in 1973, Richards has amassed a 336-137 career record and a 112-30 Mid-American mark, including a 69-2 league record over the last 11 seasons. Richards’ teams have not lost a dual-match in the MAC in the last four seasons, and the Cardinals are 62-1 against MAC schools in the last 10 campaigns. BSU has posted a 30-10 mark against Big 10 schools over the last five seasons, and since 1984, the Cardinals are 40-17 against Big 10 competition. Richards is a 1970 graduate of Western Michigan.
