Bernie Parmalee

Parmalee earned four letters for the Cardinals football team from 1987-90. The 1987 Mid-American freshman of the Year, Parmalee completed his career and still remains as Ball State’s all-time career rushing leader with 3,483 yards. He rushed for over 100 yards in a game 16 times in his career and ranked 12th in the country as a senior with 1,010 yards. As a freshman, Parmalee gained a MAC Freshman record 1,064 yards and became only the 23rd freshman in NCAA Division IA history to gain over 1,000 yards. A two-time All-MAC First-Team selection, Parmalee spent nine years in the National Football League with the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets after completing his Ball State career.
