Benjamin Stout

Stout was a three-time letterman in track and field at Ball State from 1934 to 1936, earning All-America honors in the 400-meter hurdles and setting school records in the 440-yard dash and 220-yard low hurdles. After finishing fifth in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Championships as a senior, he was invited to compete in the 1936 Olympic Trials in New York. Stout helped organize the BSU Lettermen’s Club, assisting in the writing of its constitution and serving as its first president.
