Ashleigh Schoultz graduated in 1995 with a 3.17 GPA as a biology major. She also earned a master’s degree in biology from BSU in 1997 and another master’s degree in environmental science from the University of Natal in Durban in 2000.
A four-year letterwinner, Schoultz started all 82 of BSU’s games during her career. She accumulated 35 goals, 22 assists and 92 points, and continues to rank among BSU’s career leaders in all three categories.
Schoultz became the first-ever MAC Player of the Year in 1992 and then duplicated the feat in 1993 and 1994. She is the only player in league history to earn the recognition three times. She is a three-time recipient of All-MAC First Team honors and a two-time first-team all-region selection. She was named to the Academic All-MAC Team in each of her final three seasons.
A Second Team All-American in 1993, Schoultz concluded her career with her selection to the 1994 All-America First Team. She is one of only three players in BSU annals to earn All-America honors twice in a career.
The native of Durban, South Africa, currently serves as a manager at the South African Port Operations. Her sister, Kerri, was also a four-year letterwinner at BSU, where she earned All-America and Academic All- America honors in 1998.
