
Women’s Golf Welcomes Skylar Dean in 2025 Recruiting Class

MUNCIE, Ind. - - Skylar Dean, the third-ranked player in the state of Ohio in the 2025 recruiting class, will be coming to Muncie as she signed to play for head coach Cameron Andry and the Ball State women's golf team.
"We couldn't be more excited to have Skylar joining our program," Andry exclaimed. "She is an accomplished player with a great competitive mentality and a commitment to becoming her best. She will fit in well with our team and help us to continue building a championship caliber program!"
The 2023 Ohio High School Athletic Association state runner-up, shooting a +3 (143) on the 70-par Ohio State University Gray Course, Dean is also the 191st ranked player in the 2025 national signing class according to The Universal Golf Ranking. In addition, Dean was a four-time First Team All-District selection and a 2023 First Team All-State honoree for Olentangy Orange High School in Lewis Center, Ohio.
In addition to her stellar high school career, Dean is a five-time winner on the GolfWeek Junior Tour. During the 2022 season, at the age of 15, she picked up a pair of victories in the 15-19 age group by winning events at the Yankee Trace Golf Club and the Darby Creek Golf Course. She shot -7 (137) to earn a seven-stroke win at Darby Creek, while taking the Yankee Trace event by three strokes at -4 (140).
The first female in her class to earn GolfWeek Junior Tour Hall of Fame honors, she finished the 2022 campaign fifth in the Player of the Year race among all players aged 15-19.
Dean, who has a career-low round of -8 (64), also owns multiple AJGA Top 10 finishes, including a fourth-place fourth at 2024 AJGA Circle K Junior Championship (76-70-75). She also tied for seventh at the AJGA Mercy Health Foundation Junior All-Star event in 2022 (74-73-73). Dean also owns a third-place finish at 2023 Ohio Girls Junior (75-73).
