About the Cardinals                         Â
• Ball State will play four of its next five games on the road, starting with Saturday's visit to Miami for the only scheduled meeting between the teams this season.

• The Cardinals are coming off an 82-76 victory over Central Michigan behind five double-figure scorers. Senior guard Jeremie Tyler came off the bench to lead the way with 21 points and make 5 of 10 from 3-point range.

• Junior point guard Tayler Persons scored 12 points to go with eight assists and eight rebounds in the win over Central Michigan. He threatened for Ball State's first triple-double since Bonzi Wells in 1998. Persons leads the Cardinals at 14.2 points per game this season and ranks fourth in the MAC at 4.4 assists per game.

• Ball State held CMU to 36.1 percent shooting for its best defensive performance against a Division I opponent this season. The Cardinals rank first in the MAC in field goal percentage defense during league play (.398). BSU is holding MAC opponents to 38.7 percent (82 for 212) from inside the arc.

• Ball State has won 11 of 13 games since Thanksgiving, including a nine-game winning streak that ended Jan. 6. The Cardinals check in at No. 143 in the Ken Pomeroy ratings as the third-highest team from the MAC (Buffalo is No. 76, Toledo is No. 100).

• Junior center Trey Moses is averaging a double-double over the past eight games at 11.1 points and 10.8 rebounds. During that stretch, he leads BSU in both categories and has five double-doubles. Moses ranks third in the MAC during league play with 10.4 rebounds per game.

• Miami is 2-3 in MAC play, including a split of two games with Bowling Green. The RedHawks also have a win over Kent State and losses to Western Michigan and Buffalo.
• Freshman guard Nike Sibande leads Miami in scoring at 14.3 points per game.
• The RedHawks ranks second in the league in 3-point defense (.332) and rebounding margin (+3.9).
• Miami is in its first season under head coach Jack Owens, a former Purdue assistant.

• Ball State trails 62-40 in the all-time series with Miami and 35-12 in road games against the RedHawks.
• The Cardinals have won three of the past four meetings, including an 85-74 victory last year in Muncie behind a 20-point game from Franko House.
• BSU also won its most recent trip to Oxford with a 73-56 victory on Feb. 16, 2016.
• Among current players with more than one game of experience against Miami, Jeremie Tyler leads the way in scoring at 10.3 points per game over four career contests versus the RedHawks.
