AKRON, Ohio - The Ball State women's basketball team (14-1, 3-1 MAC) earned its second-straight road victory in Mid-American Conference action with its 74-61 victory at Akron (6-9, 0-4 MAC) Wednesday night in James A. Rhodes Arena.

The Cardinals stepped up their defensive game as well holding Akron to without a field goal up until the 4:07 mark. After that, the Zips fought their way back into the ball game and would cut the Cardinals lead to 51-44 heading into the final frame.
