Track & Field’s Regan Lewis Named First Team All-MAC
May 15, 2017 | Track & Field
CLEVELAND, Ohio - - For her performance at last week's Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Ball State sophomore high jumper Regan Lewis has been named to the All-MAC First Team as announced by the league office.
Lewis, who was a Second Team All-MAC honoree in the high jump during the indoor season, won the Cardinals' second MAC individual title at the 2017 MAC Outdoor Championships with a career-best mark of 1.82m in the high jump. With the mark, Lewis secured her spot in the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round by climbing to eighth on the qualifying list.
Lewis, who placed third in the high jump at the 2016 MAC Outdoor Championships, becomes just the fourth MAC high jump champion in program history, and the first since Rebecca Lomax in 2011. In addition, her effort of 1.82m is the second-best mark in program history trailing only the mark of 1.84m set by Bonita Harrington in 1984.
Lewis returns to action May 25-27, when she travels to the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track and Field Facility for the 2017 NCAA Division East Preliminary Round.
