Cardinal Storm Relief efforts continue this week, nearly one month after storms ravaged Delaware County and East Central Indiana. In conjunction with Muncie Mission, a donation drive will be conducted outside Scheumann Stadium prior to Saturday's home opening football game. Hygiene products, canned food and bottled water are items to be collected on Saturday at the Muncie Mission truck located just outside Gate 1. Donations will be accepted throughout the four-hour tailgating period from 10:00 a.m. to kickoff at 2:00 p.m.
Ball State University, Ball State Athletics and Muncie Mission express sincere thanks to fans and contributors who donate this Saturday. Thank you.

As our Muncie and Yorktown communities, and surrounding towns in Delaware County and East Central Indiana, began to assess damage and commence recovery efforts after this week's historic flooding, our athletics department started working to identify ways in which we can assist our neighbors.
In collaboration with the Muncie mayor's office, our department initiated Cardinal Storm Relief by donating and delivering over 1,000 bottles of water to a local disaster relief organization run out of NorthPoint Church in Muncie. Our assistance contributed to helping nearly 300 local families who are in need of food, water, cleaning supplies and hygiene products. We worked with church leadership and Convoy of Hopes again on August 18 to assemble, organize and deliver disaster relief packages with the assistance of roughly 50 student-athletes and coaches from six Ball State sports teams.
Also, Muncie Mission Ministries is one of our primary partners in community service. As impactful as the Mission is to Muncie, especially our unhoused population, the organization itself is under significant stress as a couple of its facilities have been damaged in recent storms. Nevertheless, with a focus on others, they are asking for clothes, hygiene items, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies. We hope to assist their efforts, as well
