MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State University department of athletics hosts its annual FAN JAM on Saturday, Aug. 22 at Scheumann Stadium, in anticipation of back-to-school calendars for area families and the fall sports schedules for Cardinals sports teams. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the public encouraged to enter through Gate 4 on the west side of the stadium. Ball State's annual FAN JAM event is free of charge.
This year's event has been intentionally pushed back into the final weekend before Ball State classes begin, in order to invite students on campus to engage with the annual event. A new feature at this year's FAN JAM is the showing of Zootopia 2 on the stadium videoboard, starting at 8:15 p.m.! Fans and students can watch Jason Bateman and Ginnifer Goodwin star in the 2025 feature hit from Disney Animated Films.
While inviting Ball State students to engage in this year's FAN JAM, a campus shuttle service will operate from 6:15 to 10:30 p.m., to deliver students to and from Gate 4 at Scheumann Stadium, from a multiple stops on campus. Specific pick-up locations will be noted on BallStateSports.com, and on social media, in days preceding the event.
Always the case with Ball State's FAN JAM event, kids and families from Muncie and surrounding school disticts are welcomed for games, music, fun, activities and autographs involving student-athletes from Ball State's fall sports teams – including football players on the Scheumann Stadium turf. Athletes from the Cardinals' men's and women's basketball teams; baseball, gymnastics, field hockey, men's tennis and men's and women's volleyball teams are also confirmed to attend, along with representatives from Ball State, band, cheer and Code Red squads. Each sport area will have skills contests and games for kids on the stadium playing surface. On-field activities with student-athletes will conclude at 8 p.m., prior to the showing of Zootopia 2.
Parking and entry at the stadium both are free of charge. Concessions will be available from food vendors on the Scheumann Stadium concourse, though food and drink is prohibited on the stadium field. Patrons may not enter the stadium with food or drink, and Ball State's clear-bag policy will be enforced upon entry.
