Women’s Basketball Still Receiving Votes in the USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll for Sixth-Straight Week

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's basketball team received five votes in the latest USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll which was released Tuesday afternoon. The Cardinals own a 23-4 overall record and currently sit in second in the Mid-American Conference standings with a 12-2 ledger.
Ball State is one of 17 NCAA DI teams that have a 12-2 record in conference play. The Cardinals are also one of 14 NCAA DI teams that have only four losses so far this season. Two of the Cardinals losses this season came against national powerhouses No. 17 Notre Dame and No. 10 UConn. Ball State is the only MAC school to receive votes so far this season. Ball State also has the highest win percentage out of any NCAA DI program in the state of Indiana 23-4 (.852). This is the sixth week in a row the Cardinals have received votes.
The USA TODAY Sports women's basketball coaches' poll is conducted weekly throughout the regular season using a panel of head coaches at Division I schools. The panel is chosen by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. The members represent each of the 32 Division I conference that receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Each coach submits a Top 25 with a first-place vote worth 25 points, second place 24, and so on down to one point for 25th.
