WVB Places Three on CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. - - Three members of the Ball State women's volleyball program were named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team, as announced Tuesday (Dec. 17).
Representing the Cardinals senior setter Megan Wielonski, junior outside Katie Egenolf and redshirt sophomore outside/opposite Aniya Kennedy.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. They must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically and must have played in at least 90% of the team's sets or started at least 66% of the team's matches.
Wielonski earns the honor for the third straight season after helping lead the Ball State offense to a program record .267 attack percentage. A starter in all 32 matches, she dished out a team-high 950 assists and ranked sixth in the Mid-American Conference with an 8.33 assists per set average. She also served up a team-leading 53 service aces to finish her career with a program record 197 aces. Her 4,972 career assists are second in program history.
Egenolf earns the honor for the first time in her career after playing in 29 of the Cardinals 32 matches, including 16 starts. She ranked fifth on the squad with 129 kills for a 1.57 kills-per-set average. She was also fifth on the squad with 17 aces, while ranking fourth with 127 digs. Egenolf also tallied 22 total blocks on the year.
Kennedy also earns the honor for the first time in her career after playing in 30 of the team's 32 matches, including 12 starts. She ranked second on the squad with 279 kills for a 2.74 kills-per-set average, while hitting .250. At the net, Kennedy tallied 43 total blocks with her seven solo blocks tying for third on the squad. She also collected 44 digs and served up one ace over the course of the season.
