Women’s Tennis Finishes Day One at Spartan Invite

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Ball State women's tennis team opened play Friday afternoon at the Spartan Invite which is being hosted on the campus of Michigan State. The three-day event will conclude on Sunday, Nov. 5.
The Cardinals took two doubles matches from DePaul today. The Ball State twosome of Ella Hazelbaker and Elena Malykh earned a 6-3 victory against DePaul's duo of Greta Carbone and Sasha Stula.
Isabele Tanjuatcoand along with teammate Sarah Shahbaz also claimed a 6-3 defeat over the Blue Demons Eva Goncharov and Eleanor Hobbs.
In singles, Annika Planinsek won in straight sets over in-state rival Butler's Natalie Boeing, 6-2, 6-1 and Malykh also earned a victory over the Bulldogs Delaney Shurhamer.
The Ball State women's tennis team will resume play Saturday morning at the Spartan Invite.
