Kennedy Earns Another MAC West Offensive Player Of The Week Honor

CLEVELAND - - For the third straight week, and fourth time this season, Ball State women's volleyball redshirt freshman outside attacker Aniya Kennedy has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week.
Kennedy led all MAC West Division players with a 4.62 kills-per-set average last week, smashing 60 kills over the Cardinals' three matches. She started the week with a match-high 15 kills in BSU's Tuesday sweep of Toledo.
In Friday's series opener at Buffalo, Kennedy smashed a match-best 22 kills. She closed the week with 23 more kills, while hitting .352 (23-4-54), in Saturday's series finale at Buffalo. Kennedy also collected eight total blocks and four digs over the course of Ball State's three matches.
Kennedy and the Ball State women's volleyball team return home this weekend for a pair of special events. Friday's match versus Kent State will serve as Alumni Night, with the program recognizing all alumni in attendance. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
Saturday, the Cardinals welcome Ohio to Worthen Arena for a 4 p.m. first serve on Chirp or Treat. In addition to $5 tickets to the match, the Ball State Student Athlete Advisory Committee will host FREE Trick or Treat around the concourse run by BSU's other athletic programs. Fans are encouraged to come dressed in their Halloween best and Trick or Treat with the Cardinals, with support from Texas Roadhouse and Raising Canes, starting at 3 p.m.
