Six Men’s Golfers Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State men's golf team tied for league-high honors with six of its members being named to the 2021 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team released Thursday (June 17).
Seniors Jack Cunningham and CJ Jones earned the recognition for the second time in their careers, while redshirt senior Tyler Green, junior Yianni Kostouros, junior Joey Ranieri and sophomore Joey Wiseman are first-time honorees.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must own a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 and participate in at least 50 percent of his team's events. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
Three of Ball State's award recipients graduated from Ball State in May. Cunningham earned a degree in actuarial science with a 3.714 GPA, Green completed his degree in general studies with a 3.340 GPA, and Jones finished his degree in sports administration with a 3.337 GPA.
Both Kostouros (marketing, 3.387 GPA) and Ranieri (marketing, 3.464 GPA) completed their junior year in 2021, while Wiseman (communications studies, 3.409 GPA) wrapped up his sophomore season.
