Men's Swimming & Diving Sweeps MAC Weekly Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - - The Ball State men's swimming & diving program was rewarded for its win over Southern Illinois last Saturday, sweeping the Mid-American Conference weekly honors.

Sophomore freestyle specialist Owen Chaye earned MAC Swimmer of the Week honors for the second time this season after sweeping the freestyle sprints versus the Salukis. He claimed victory in both the 50 (21.40) and 100 (46.77) freestyle to give him six individual wins on the season.

Chaye also swam anchor for the first-place 400 medley relay which set a new Lewellen Aquatic Center record with a time of 3:26.13.

Freshman diver Isaac Hunter was named the MAC Diver of the Week after earning a pair of personal-best performances on his way to sweeping the diving events versus SIU. He scored 285.15 on the 1 meter and 302.12 on the 3 meter.

Ball State's divers will be back in action Friday at the Miami Last Chance Meet in Oxford, Ohio. The entire men's team returns to action March 6 once again at Miami.
