Ball State took Tuesday off from the practice field for a travel day which started in the morning in Indiana and ended just after lunch in Alabama.

Ball State head coach Mike Neu joined Georgia State head coach Shawn Elliott in a joint bowl press conference Tuesday in front of the local media as well as selected guests to kick off the week.

Gratitude was the theme of the press conference as Coach Neu expressed how thankful he and the rest of the football program were to be in Montgomery and playing in a bowl game for the second consecutive season. But make no mistake about it, this team is here to try to win a football game.
Another theme that came up during the press conference was Coach Neu's first game while leading his alma mater - a game at Georgia State in 2016 in which the Cardinals emerged victorious. Ironically enough, the game was played in the Georgia Dome, which was the last stadium that Neu coached in as a member of the New Orleans Saints before getting the opportunity to come lead the program.
