Women’s Tennis Competes At ITA Ohio Valley Regional

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Ball State women's tennis team has completed rounds of singles and doubles at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Ohio Valley Regional which is currently being hosted by Middle Tennessee State.
In singles, Mariya Polishchuk, Amy Kaplan and Emma Peeler each earned first round victories. Polishchuk gave up only one game to the University of Tennessee Chattanooga's Emma van Hee, winning the match, 6-0, 6-1.
Kaplan followed suit beating Northern Kentucky's Maria Koo in straight sets by a score of 6-3, 6-3.
Peeler would then round out the first round victories for the Cardinals after posting a 6-4, 6-0 take down over Louisville's Joy Callwood.
Despite their strong efforts, the Cardinals didn't advance anyone to the round of 32 but Ball State will compete in the singles consolation bracket on Saturday.
Doubles play today was led by the Ball State's twosome of Polishchuk and Hannah Davies, as the twosome advanced after winning their match 8-7 (2) against NKU's Koo and Laura Sola Grau.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues action at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional on Saturday with consolation singles beginning at 9 a.m. CT and doubles play starting at 3 p.m. CT.
