Kim Leads Cardinals on Day One of Rocket Classic

PORT CLINTON, Ohio. – The Ball State women's golf team was back in action on Monday for the first two rounds of the Rocket Classic at the Catawba Island Club. Liz Kim led the Cardinals and is in fourth place on the individual leaderboard.
Kim started her rounds on the par-4 fourth and she began the first round with three consecutive pars. She birdied the par-5 seventh and the par-3 ninth. After her tee shot on the par-4 13th, she was left with 90 yards to the pin. Her second shot was a spectacular one as she drained it for an eagle. She finished round one with a 73 (+1) and was in second place. In the second round, she added two more birdies and posted a round of 76 (+4). Her two-round tally of 149 (+5) has her in fourth place, only three shots off the lead.
Morgan Lewis produced two birdies over the two rounds and is in 39th. Dylann Armstrong is tied for 44th and led the team with five birdies on the day, which is tied for fifth in the entire field. Payton Bennett is tied for 44th, along with Tiegan Taylor. Ja Santadusit is tied for 49th and notched two birdies on the day.
The Catawba Island Club is a par-72, 6,118-yard course near the shores of Lake Erie. The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Live results can be found here.
