Cardinals Add to School’s Top-10 List to Open MAC Championships

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Ball State University women's swimming and diving team opened the Mid-American Conference Championships Wednesday with two of the fastest times in school history in both the 200 Medley Relay and 800 Free Relay.
A team made up of Audrey Schank, Alex Bader, Shelby Crist and Apsara Sakbun recorded a time of 1:42:37 in the 200 Medley Relay, the sixth best mark in school history. That performance placed the Cardinals seventh in the event.
To cap off the night, Ball State swam the fifth-best time in school history in the 800 Free Relay by clocking in at 7:31.36. Sophie Bader, Sakbun, Katie Walker and Anne Vormohr made up the group that added to the program's top-10 list. Their performance also finished in seventh place.
Ball State completed day one of the championships in seventh overall as a team with 48 points. Akron leads the team standings with 80 points. Full team standings can be viewed below.
