December 28, 2020 | General
MUNCIE - Twelve current Ball State student-athletes are now alumni after finishing their degrees this semester. The list includes seven MAC Champion football players, two cross country runners, a track athlete, a soccer player and a record-setting softball pitcher.Â
Here's the list student-athletes among the list of December 2020 graduates:
Â
Martin and Daw were award-winning defensive players for the MAC Champion Ball State football team. Martin was named the conference's defensive player of the year and led the conference in tackles, while Daw was named MAC Championship Defensive Player of the Game. Williams, Jones, Greenwood, Jennette and Thomas all shined and saw significant playing time as Ball State won its first championship since 1996.
Rothwell already holds school and conference records in saves and will graduate as one of the greatest pitchers in the school's softball history. Hawkins-Dabney has been a starter on the soccer team and scored nine points in 2019.Â
Rodriguez was an all-conference runner in both cross country and track and was twice a silver medalist at the MAC Indoor Championships. Cummings has been a top finisher for the Cardinals, including at the league championship cross country meet and at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.
Ball State's commencement ceremonies for 2020 fall graduates will take place this coming spring.Â
