Indoor Track & Field Places 12 on Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio - - After a strong showing both in the classroom and on the field of competition, 12 members of the Ball State track & field program were named to the 2018-19 Women's Indoor Track & Field Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team.

To qualify for Academic All-MAC honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for their particular sport. First year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residency are not eligible.
Four Cardinals pick up the honor for the fifth time in their careers with seniors Regan Lewis and Peyton Stewart being five-time honorees in track & field, and juniors Peyton Kneadler and Maritza Rodriguez earning the honor three times in track & field and twice in cross country.

Juniors Megan Graves, Amber Jones and Kelsey Walters are all three-time honorees in the sport of track & field, while sophomore Emmalyne Tarsa is a two-time honoree with her other award coming in cross country this past fall.

Being recognized for the first time in their collegiate careers are sophomores Jada Caldwell, Ivy McKee and Hailley Peters, along with redshirt freshman Michelle Lehmann.

A total of 10 of Ball State's 12 honorees are now eligible to be named a MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete which is voted on by the faculty athletic representatives from each MAC institution. The award is presented to student-athletes from the Academic All-MAC Team who have excelled in athletics and academics and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
