Marko Guzina Earns MAC Tennis Player of the Week Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Senior Marko Guzina of the Ball State men's tennis team earned Mid-American Conference Tennis Singles Player of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Marko played at the No. 2 singles position for the Cardinals this past weekend. The senior from Toronto, Canada, helped Ball State take a 3-0 lead over Big Ten foe Michigan State on Jan. 26 at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. Marko took down the Spartans John Carlin in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
Guzina also competed on the top court in doubles against Michigan State alongside his twin Nemanja. The twosome owned a 5-4 advantage over the Spartans duo of Carlin and Jack Winkler prior to the match being suspended after Ball State had clinched the doubles point.
The Ball State men's tennis team will be back in action Saturday at home against Xavier. First serve is set for 1 p.m. at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
