NORMAL, Ill. -- Manon Tounalom
is one shot off the pace, and the Ball State women's golf team is third among a field of 14 teams after two rounds at Illinois State's Redbird Invitational.
The Cardinals are second among the five Mid-American Conference teams in the field at Weibring Golf Club. Only tournament leader Northern Illinois is better.
The Huskies (+8) hold a 15-shot lead on second-place Eastern Kentucky (+23) entering Monday's final round. The Cardinals (+38) are third.

Tounalom (-1) made seven birdies on the day and finds herself just one shot behind NIU's duo of Brielle Ward (-2) and Lauren Ingle (-2).
Freshman Morgan Lewis
and sophomore Liz Kim
also provided counting scores in both rounds for Ball State, matching each other with 79s in both the morning and afternoon. They are tied for 36th in the field of 84 golfers.
Lewis made her collegiate tournament debut Sunday alongside classmates Hadley Moritz
and Dylann Armstrong
(competing as an individual). Moritz posted the Cardinals' second-best score of the morning round with a 75.
