Men's Tennis Loses At Western Michigan Saturday In MAC Action

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Ball State men's tennis team (12-7, 2-3 MAC) fell at Western Michigan (17-4, 4-0 MAC) 7-0 Saturday afternoon in the West Hills Athletic Club.

With the win, the Broncos finished their home season with an 11-0 ledger.  Western Michigan got off to a great start by claiming the doubles point with wins at No.1 and No. 2.  Nemanja Guzina and Collin Rigney dropped a 6-1 decision to Jannik Opitz and Kennosuke Nouchi on the top court.  After that, Conner Andersen and Marko Guzina suffered a 6-4 loss to Eric Olivarez and Nick Schnobel to lose the doubles point.

In singles action, the Broncos would capture wins on courts four, one and six to take the match from Ball State.  Nemanja Guzina took the first frame from Jannik Opitz 6-2 but would then suffer losses in the second and third sets, 6-1 and 6-3 at No. 2 singles.

The Ball State men's tennis team will take a break from conference action and play IUPUI on the road Wednesday at 3 p.m.
