Track & Field Scores Four Top Fives at Knight Open
INDIANAPOLIS- - Battling more cold and blustery conditions, the Ball State track & field team tallied four top five finishes over three throwing events Friday afternoon at the Knight Open hosted by Marian University.

Leading the way for the Cardinals was sophomore Kelsey Walters who placed third in the shot put with a distance of 13.29m. Freshman Jada Caldwell was not far behind, taking fourth in the event at a career-best 12.74m

Freshman Princess Carter led Ball State in the discus, placing fourth with a mark of 38.94m. Carter also competed in the hammer, turning in an 18th-place effort of 34.84m.

Senior Adrienne Mayfield rounded out Ball State's two entries in the discus with a fifth-place throw of 38.78m.

Sophomore Megan Graves led the way for the Cardinals in the hammer, with a career-best distance of 44.64m.

The Ball State track & field will hope for much better weather conditions this coming weekend, when the team hosts the two-day Ball State Challenge on April 13-14.
