MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State soccer team continued its spring season Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over Grace College at the Briner Sports Complex.
and Emily Scott
scored goals in the Cardinals' victory.
"It was a good, competitive game," Ball State head coach Craig Roberts
said. "We're progressing the way we want to. We improved in a lot of areas we've been working on. We wanted to try to give more minutes to some players who didn't see the field that much last season, and we saw a lot of development in that area."
Grace struck with the first goal of the game, but Cook evened the score when she connected on a cross from Lauren Roll
. Roll later nearly scored a goal of her own but saw her shot glance off the crossbar.
Scott scored the game-winner when she lined one up from just outside the box and found the back of the net to give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead.
Ball State, which also has a win over Wright State, is now 2-0 for the spring schedule. The Cardinals will return to action April 7 with a contest against Olivet Nazarene at 3 p.m. and the annual alumni game at 5 p.m.
