Track & Field’s Lewis Named MAC Field Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - - After clearing a career-best height of 1.70m at last weekend's Raleigh Relays, Ball State sophomore high jumper Regan Lewis (Greenfield, Ind./Greenfield-Central) has been named the Mid-American Conference Field Athlete of the Week.
We the effort, Lewis became the first Ball State student-athlete to record an automatic qualifying mark for the 2017 MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships which will be held May 11-13 at Western Michigan.
Lewis, who earns MAC Field Athlete of the Week accolades for the first time in her career, placed second in the high jump at the Raleigh Relays with her leap of 1.70m. The mark currently ranks first in the conference and 14th on the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round qualifying list.
Next up for the Ball State outdoor track & field team is the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational hosted by Cincinnati. The two-day meet starts March 31 and concludes April 1.
