Tounalom Climbs Leaderboard with 71

Cardinals 12th as a team with one round left in Arizona

RIO VERDE, Ariz. -- Manon Tounalom carded the best round of her collegiate career with a 1-under par 71 Saturday for the Ball State women's golf team on day two of the Rio Verde Invitational.
Tounalom climbed 33 spots up the individual leaderboard into a tie for 17th with one round to play. The freshman from France made four birdies on the day, as she moved to 6 over (150) on the White Wing Course at Rio Verde Country Club.
Ball State posted a score of 309 as a team on day two, also counting a 78 from Kelsey Sear and a pair of 80s from Allison Lindley and Morgan Nadaline. The Cardinals fell to 12th place out of 19 with a two-day total of 617.
Overnight leader UMKC remained in first place with a score of 591 (+15). Eastern Michigan (+21) is second, followed by Northern Illinois (+23) in third.
UMKC's Chandler Gallagher maintained her spot atop the individual leaderboard at 3 under (141), two shots clear of the field.
The final round will be played Sunday with an 8:30 a.m. MT (10:30 ET) shotgun start. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
