2018 League Opponents Announced for Ball State Football

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Mid-American Conference recently announced football opponents for the 2018 season.
Ball State will host MAC West foes Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan, as well as MAC East member Kent State. Road opponents for the Cardinals include Central Michigan and Toledo out the MAC West and Miami and Ohio from the MAC East.
Four of Ball State's eight MAC opponents went to bowl games this season – Central Michigan, Northern Illinois, Ohio and Toledo.
Kent State and Ohio replace Buffalo and Akron from the 2017 league schedule. This will be the first meeting between Ball State and Kent State since 2013. The Cardinals won that game, 27-24. The game against Ohio will be the third in the last four meetings between the two teams that takes place in Athens, Ohio. Ball State holds a slight 7-6 lead in the series against Ohio played in Athens.
Dates for the 2018 league schedule will be released at a later date.
Ball State begins the 2018 season with four consecutive non-conference games. The Cardinals start the season on Thursday night, Aug. 30 with a home game against Central Connecticut State. Ball State then hits the road for back-to-back weeks at Notre Dame (Sept. 8) and Indiana (Sept. 15). The Cardinals conclude their non-conference slate with a home game against Western Kentucky on Sept. 22.
