September 20, 2016 | Baseball
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State baseball team is set to host the Ontario Blue Jays in a 12-inning exhibition game Wednesday. This is the only exhibition game for the Cardinals in the fall. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
Four key positional starters as well as the majority of the pitching staff from the 2015 team are back on the roster this year. Seniors Matt Eppers (outfielder), Sean Kennedy (third baseman), Alex Maloney (shortstop) and Caleb Stayton (first base/catcher) give the Cardinals plenty of veteran leadership.
On the mound, senior righty BJ Butler and senior lefty Kevin Marnon will see action in the first four innings on Wednesday. Also expected to throw against Ontario is junior Evan Marquardt, junior Brendan Burns, sophomore Nick Floyd, sophomore TJ Harmon, senior David Current and Maloney.
The Ontario Blue Jays are a Canadian amateur team that is currently traveling the United State to play exhibition games against various collegiate teams.
