MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State women's tennis head coach Max Norris announced the addition of Rebecca Herrington (Alliston, Ontario/Banting High School) to the Cardinals' roster.
"We are thrilled to add Rebecca to our program," Norris said. "Rebecca is unselfish, trustworthy, hardworking, and is excited to improve in college. She fits our culture perfectly. Rebecca is also a great player. She has trained with and played against the best junior players in Canada over the past few years. Under the guidance of her coach Harry Greenan, she has been playing her best tennis this past year. Harry has coached many great college players, and I have no doubt Becca will be another in that line. We are looking forward to getting started in a few weeks."
For three years she has held a top 85 ranking for all Canadian juniors in U18 age group. At Banting High School, Herrington was voted Most Valuable Player all four years and was named Senior Athlete of the Year in 2016.
Herrington also competed at the Canadian pro circuit level for the International Tennis Federation, competing in Granby and Gatineau, Quebec, where she was a finalist in the 2014 Caledon Open Women's Tournament.
The Ball state women's tennis team begins fall play at the Marquette Fall Classic in Milwaukee, Wis., Sept. 16-18.
