Soccer Adds Paula Guerrero from Spain's First Division

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State soccer program has announced the addition of Spain's Paula Guerrero to its roster for the upcoming 2016 season.
Guerrero, who has played in Spain's first division and competed at the international level, brings Ball State's class of newcomers to a total of 10. That group will help the Cardinals in their quest to build on last year's Mid-American Conference regular season championship.

Pre-Ball State: Spent eight years with Levante UD, including the past four with the club's "A" team in Spain's first division … helped her team finish fifth or better all four seasons … played an average of 82 minutes per game in 2014-15 and 76 minutes per game in 2015-16 as a midfielder … made her debut in the first division at age 16 … played two years with Spain's U17 national team in the UEFA European Championships … trained two years with the U19 national team … played for the U16 and U18 Valencia regional teams, serving as captain of the U16 squad.
Personal: Full name is Paula Guerrero Sanz … born Sept. 20, 1996 in Valencia, Spain … daughter of Salvador Guerrero Esteve and Josefa Sanz Roman … has one sister, Andrea.

Her Spanish national team experience will also serve as great provider for our central mid department. She has a relentless work ethic and is very driven in her attacking play. She is well versed both technically and tactically. In addition, she is an outstanding student both of the game and in the classroom."
