Men's Golf Duo Continues Play in Florida

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Ball State men's golfers James Blackwell and Albert Jennings each carded rounds of 81 Saturday on day two of the PGA Minority Collegiate Championships.
Blackwell, who shared the round-one lead, fell five strokes off the pace in the men's individual invitational on the Wanamaker Course at PGA Golf Club. The senior from Buffalo, New York, sits fifth with a 36-hole total of 155 (+11). Norman Blanco of Maryland Eastern Shore leads the way at 150 (+6).
Jennings owns a two-day total of 162 (+18) and finds himself in 11th place with one round to play.
This week's event features more than 160 men and women from nearly 40 schools in both team and individual divisions. The final round will be played Sunday.
The PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship was first contested in 1987. PGA Golf Club has hosted the event since 1998, and the PGA of America was granted complete ownership and management of the tournament by the National Minority College Golf Scholarship Fund in 2006.
An hour-long highlight show featuring action from the championship will air June 29 (8 p.m.) on Golf Channel and will re-air July 5 (2 p.m.) and Aug. 23 (2 p.m.).
