CLEVELAND, Ohio - Juniors Lucas Andersen and Andrew Stutz of the Ball State men's tennis team have earned All-Mid-American Conference First and Second Team accolades, respectively. Andersen was also recognized with the Co-MAC Player of the Year Award. The All-MAC honors are voted on by the league's coaches and were announced by the conference office today.
Andersen receives All-MAC First Team honors and will share MAC Men's Tennis Co-Player of the Year honors, with Stjepan Sisko of Toledo. Andersen becomes only the seventh Cardinal in program history to receive MAC Player of the Year honors since it started in 1997. The last time Ball State had a player receive the honor was Eduardo Pavia in 2009-10. Andersen finished the season with a 19-13 overall record and led the team with a 6-1 conference ledger. Andersen is also a two-time All-MAC Second Team recipient.
Stutz was named All-MAC Second Team for the first time in his career. He ended the season with a 16-16 overall mark and a 4-3 MAC record. Stutz posted a 5-2 doubles mark on the top court during MAC action with teammate Conner Andersen.
