Women's Tennis Faces Michigan In NCAA Tourney

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team, which earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships by winning the Mid-American Conference Tournament, will play a first-round match at Michigan.
The Cardinals, under the direction of head coach Max Norris, earned their first-ever berth in the NCAA Championships with a 4-0 win Sunday over Western Michigan in the MAC Tournament championship match.
Ball State and Michigan will meet Friday, May 13 at 1 p.m. The match The winner will advance to play Saturday, May 14 against the winner of the Kentucky-Xavier match.
Ball State will take a 22-3 overall record to Ann Arbor. The Cardinals also won the MAC regular season championship.
Michigan, the No. 10 overall seed, enters the match with an 18-5 record. The Wolverines finished second in the Big Ten and lost in the conference tournament championship match to Ohio State. The Wolverines made it to the round of 16 at the 2015 NCAA Tournament before falling to No. 7 Georgia.
